He enjoyed golfing, traveling, and hunting. Kim was a member of the Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship. He was co-owner of Wenturine Brothers Lumber Company, Nicktown, PA, with his brother, John. Kim was a graduate of Northern Cambria High School and Penn State University.
